Welcome back. Here is part two of (hopefully only) three. When I last left you, Blake and I were stuck in London Gatwick airport after we missed our flight. The next flight was at 1:30 and of course, that flight is delayed. Ryanair claims to be "The on-time airline" except for when we are extremely early for the flight, then it is late. The flight took off around 1:50 and got to Dublin around 3. We got a bus from the airport into the city of Dublin and arrived at the now infamous Paddy's Palace around 4:30.
PADDY'S PALACE!
When we got to Paddy's, there was a note from Lily telling us that they were taking a tour. We tried calling them, but could not get in touch so Blake and I decided to just walk around on our own. Dublin was a cute city. Drunks everywhere, but it was very cozy. For the month of October, the Dublin Theatre Festival is going on. We kept walking past theatres that had these amazing looking shows going on including Long Day's Journey into Night starring James Cromwell. We asked about tickets, but the only tickets they had were the back row of a huge theatre for 15 euros. We decide that a play like that, you would need to be close up, and 15 euros was too much to spend on bad seats, so unfortunately we did not get to see it.
We
The Bad Ass Cafe. I thought it was funny.
The random spire in the center of Dublin that all the locals hate.
This statue has bullet holes in it that are apparently from the IRA
Because they drive on the left side of the road, crossing the street is very confusing and you don't always know which way to look...
...so they are very helpful and tell you exactly what to do.
Eventually we met up with the girls and since everyone was feeling the hole in the wallet, we found a grocery store and all got frozen dinners for really cheap. We went back to Paddy's and used the kitchen there to make our food.
Paddy's Palace Picnic (They love the aliteration in Ireland).
After sitting around and chatting for a while, we decided to go out and find a pub to go to, despite everyone being exhausted. We could not say we went to Dublin and did not go to any pubs. While looking for somewhere to go, we ran into Hannah and Sarah and decided to join them for a drink.
The next morning, the girls had to leave early to catch their train to Galway but our flight to Scotland wasn't until 8, so we had the whole day to wander around. The girls told us that the Guiness Storehouse was a lot of fun, so we decided to go find that.

It sort of reminded us of Willy Wonka, except drunk and Irish.
I wasn't really sure what to expect, but it turned out to be a lot of fun. It reminded me of Chocolate World at Hershey Park. It wasn't the actual place where they make the beer, but instead a really corny recreation of it, just like Chocolate World. And just like at the end of Chocolate World when they stand there and give you a free piece of chocolate, at the Guiness Storehouse, they give you a free pint of Guiness.
That is all beer...
(Just kiding it's water)
Drunken Tucan Sam
They made a shamrock out of the foam of the beer.
Blake and I in the bar overlooking Dublin at the top of the Guinness factory
After we were done, we roamed around for a little more, got some food, and then headed over to the airport with more than enough time, just in case.
Blake under the pointless spire
New York is pretty far away...
Last view of Paddy's (Garbage and all)
Of course because we left so much time, we got to the airport and checked in with no problems at all, so we had to just wait around for a few hours before we could get on the plane. Oh well, I live in a castle.
