Second day of class

Hey everyone. I just wanted to start off today's blog by saying HAPPY BIRTHDAY MOM!! Don't worry I won't say how big of an old fart you are by now.

As you can tell from my previous posts (Make sure you look at those to see all the pictures I haven't been able to post) the internet is now working. Not only that, but they stopped being stupid and are now keeping it on 24/7 which is exciting.

I want to start off on a little tangent. I am sitting in my room right now which is right at the top of the stairs of the Voorburcht. That means we can hear everyone who comes in and out of the door as well as what is going on downstairs. At the bottom of the stairs are a few vending machines. The other night (I think it was Saturday night) it was about 3:30am and my roommates and I were just turning the lights off and getting into bed. After about a minute of silence we hear this humming noise. I say to everyone "Is someone vacuuming?" The girl in the tower room above ours have a vacuum upstairs, but we couldn't think to why they would be using it at 3:30am. About 30 seconds later we hear a knock at our door and this girl is standing there with cups of hot chocolate. She told us that her friend was extremely stoned and drunk and put 2 euros into the hot chocolate/coffee machine that doesn't give change. So now he is buying 10 hot chocolates. It was really weird, yet sort of funny. I might start a tally of how many times I get free hot chocolate from someone who is either drunk and/or high this semester.

Anyway. Today I had my second class. Ethics or values. It is taught by a German man named Chris Bremmers who, like my acting teacher, does not speak English perfectly. He was very nervous and talked very slow and I was trying not to have my mind wander the whole class. The main highlight of the class was when he tried to say "Jews" but I thought he said "juice." Luckily we had a few breaks to make the 4 hours go by a little easier, but it was still sort of rough. We will see how it goes.

Dinner tonight was actually really really good. They had steak with a peppercorn sauce and really good brocolli. This was probably the first night since I've gotten here that I have been full and satisfied after eating.

Not much going on tonight. I think I am just going to catch up on all my internet needs and start reading the 900000 things for ethics. I don't really want to...but oh well, I live in a Castle.
